If there's one thing we all know about cats, it's that they really don't love water. They like to play with water, for sure, but when it comes to jumping in the deep end, most cats would rather do anything else. In fact, some cats even come and scream at you while you shower, wash your hands, or basically do anything else in the bathroom even near water! Why do they do that, those crazy kitties?

Well, a bunch of redditors gathered around to discuss their silly shower cats and why they watch them (and sometimes, yell at them), while they are bathing or showering. Most theories are about the cats guarding you during a vulnerable time (awwwww!), while others play more to the purrsonality of a cat, saying that they're just weirded out that we're willingly getting ourselves wet. This cat may not be guarding anyone except himself, he looks way too suspicious of all of these shenanigans involving water going on in the bathroom. You won't catch him anywhere near that shower, he'll judge silently from the bathroom vanity.

Even during his sleepiest moments, he still comes to check on his hooman in the bathroom. It's hard work, but someone has to do it! He'll be right over to help if something goes wrong, just right after he closes his eyes for a quick cat nap.
